Windows 7, however, has a neat feature that lets you search from your desktop and you don’t even need to open your browser. YouTube is a good example. You would use a "search connector" for YouTube and then you could search the site from your desktop. Think of how convenient this would be if you just wanted to do a fast search on one of your most frequently used websites without opening your browser! If you are interested in finding a site that doesn’t have search connectors you can download, you can create your own search connectors by following the instructions on sites created just for that purpose.

Have you always wished that the charge for the battery of your laptop or notebook computer would last longer? It’s possible to make some adjustment to your computer so you battery charge is longer if you have Windows 7 and run their Energy Report function. It’s not hard to generate this Energy Report. Open the Start menu and type CMD in the search box; right click on the command prompt that appears at the top and select ‘Run as Administrator.’ The next screen with be a familiar DOS screen. Type "powercfg -energy" (without quotes) at the DOS prompt exactly as shown here. You will them get a report that will give you ways to save energy so you battery charge lasts longer. If your PC could benefit by upgrading certain programs or drivers, these will be mentioned in the report. Your battery will give you more efficiency if you incorporate the changes recommended in the Energy Report.
